That alone reduces the protein so it is less likely to stiffen your hair.Ĭonditioner will hypothetically compete with the protein for binding on the hair. This should make about 1/2 to 3/4 cup total, depending on how much water you used. Then add 2-3 tablespoons of oil and conditioner in whatever ratio you like. If you wanted to use this recipe for hair that tends to respond poorly to protein, cut the amount of gelatin in half (keep the liquid the same, 1/4 to 1/2 cup). Fine and medium, low porosity hair often do well with protein because it provides extra support and "body." But people with coarser (wider) hair have to use protein carefully. This result doesn't mean your hair is low porosity. You may have left the treatment on too long or not long enough - assuming this protein is appropriate for you hair, which it may or may not be. Gelatin is hydrolyzed collagen, but it is larger than that used when you see "hydrolyzed collagen" on ingredient lists.Ĥ) Timing matters. Or at least use a generous application of rinse-out conditioner.ģ) If a deep conditioning treatment or lots of rinse-out conditioner does not correct the stiff feeling, then the protein treatment may have been too concentrated, or your hair may do better with smaller proteins like hydrolyzed keratin or collagen. Protein provides support, conditioner provides softness. When hair gets stiff after this treatment, there are several things to consider.ġ) If you don't rinse extremely thoroughly, residual gelatin can cause stiffness.Ģ) You may need to follow up a concentrated protein treatment like this with a deep conditioning treatment to restore softness. ![]() Like hair conditioners, more proteins will be taken up the longer the protein is on the hair, or with heat. If hair is already over-softened because of conditioner build-up (over-conditioning), adding protein may make it even more over-softened rather than restore bounce. This might be because there is more time for the protein to bond with the hair and act as a conditioner vs. The same protein that can make hair too rough when left on for a little while may make hair overly soft and unable to curl properly if left on a lot longer. When hair becomes too soft with protein, it may be because protein is also conditioning - it has a slight positive charge like conditioners do. For some people, protein makes hair rough when there is other product residue in the hair. For some hair - all proteins will cause this effect. Whereas fine and medium hair benefits from that extra support. Adding more stiffness to a hair that is well-supported makes it feel more stiff. Because protein is not softening or emollient like oils and conditioners (though it *is* hydrating), that can create a stiff, rough or rigid feeling, especially in wider or more-coarse hairs which already have their own internal rigidity. Protein can make hair stiff because many proteins, especially larger ones like wheat, quinoa, oat (gelatin is both medium and large) form films around hair. Protein adds support, oils and conditioners add softness. Mixing some oil and conditioner into the treatment will help it spread more easily in your hair and give you extra conditioning as well. P.S The Neocell Super Collagen didn't dissolve properly when I was mixing with a spoon so I ended up blending it in my magic bullet, turning the mask turn into a weird thick slimy texture so next time I think I will just omit it and use gelatine.įor using this protein treatment, you might want to try it half-strength if you've never used it before and be sure to follow it with a lot of conditioner or an intense (deep) conditioning if it feels rough. I'm so glad I stumbled across this blog & can't wait to try out your other recipes :) In these past 12 days, I've noticed less split ends and the ends don't look frizzy or feel rough. I live in a very hot & humid climate (more so during the summer months which it is now) and the weather has really been doing a number on my hair, I have been needing to cut it every 4 weeks to get rid of the dry ends. The treatment was almost to good to be true so I waited a while before posting this comment to see what would happen after my 1st wash & how long it would take to wear out. I am thrilled with the results! My hair is so soft & shiny now. ![]() I ended up doing this treatment on the 1st May. No bluray, no dvd player, no home automation (yet).Įdit: NVM, I found it. (in case this is what you were going to suggest) Such as AV power, AV Input selector, TV power, TV hdmi input etc etc. Just for the record, I don't use activities or macros, I like having all functions on the device that i frequently use on the screen. In the device editor on the buttons tab, you can assign functions from other devices, effectively the same thing as as keymove.Įxcellent, I cant seem to find this option though, can you post some screenshots? Normally, I would tell you to use keymoves, but the Xsight doesn't support them, so I would advise you to learn the RC6 functions to the transport keys on the Xsight. Everything would work as I need it to if I can accomplish this.i would have all keyboard and rc6 commands for Netflix, Kodi and LaunchBoxĪre you using the Xsight remote, or the HP remote and your keyboard? I can't help you with the HP or the keyboard, but I can with the Xsight. I just want to avoid switching between the hp remote and the mce keyboard by combing both. I just want to add the play, pause, stop, Rew and ff to the mce keyboard file. It interprets rc6 commands and passed it through to Netflix. ![]() I found a little application called Netflix remote controller. With most remotes, I would say yes, you could program the RC6 functions as keymoves, but as far as I know, the Xsight remotes don't support key moves, so your best bet to combine those functions is to learn the buttons (you can learn to any button). Why do you need to mix RC6 functions with the MCE upgrade to work Netflix? I'd just rather do the programming on the software side. I am able to map letter keys for these functions, however having the actual media keys function makes it possible to make my remote "just work" with Netflix on Windows 10.īasically I'm trying to avoid switching between devices on my remote. One other thing I was curious about, can I combine remote upgrades? ie: adding the play/pause stop ff Rew functions from a standard rc6 device upgrades file into the mce keyboard file? ![]() However, I want it all to be remote based. I use the advance mce mapper tool for on the fly tweaks. I've loaded my remote with a few device upgrades. Last edited by The Robman on Thu 8:57 am edited 1 time in total Unless, of course, things like alt+F4 don't actually do anything and you need to edit the registry to make it do something. What I'm saying is, if you had a JP1 remote, you could load the upgrade and enter the codes as I described earlier and it would work, without any registry edits. You mentioned "advance mce remote mapper", but that sounds like a way to create new functions, which is not needed here. Now, the real question is, do you have the ability to do anything with these codes? I'm guessing that you don't have a JP1 remote. I forget if anyone did an exhaustive search for additional functions and this thread is too long to read back to check.īut anyway, we also documented how to make compound button codes, which I quoted in my previous post. The RMDU file lists the keycode for each basic key, at least all of the ones that we've discovered, there's always the possibility that there are additional functions available. Is there documentation for each key code? Basically what I'm wondering is there information for each key that allows me to setup my own key combinations in the same way you explained the alt+f4. Please don't PM me with remote questions, post them in the forums so all the experts can help! I don't understand enough of your question to try to offer an answer. I'm not at a computer right now, but will that file tell me the button codes? So I can create my own combos? Would happen to know why my remote isn't properly learning the signal? 13, 14, 15, 16 NextĪwesome! Thank you very much. Picture a slender end table at each side of the sofa, taller than arm height for added elegance, along with shorter side tables aside an armchair and an artful application of console tables, such as sofa tables. By taking up less room, it’s an open invitation to feature more occasional tables too. The tables that you choose to have in a narrow living room should generally be slim because they’ll make your room feel larger for no reason other than they’re less obtrusive and visually weighty. Ultimately, it’s prudent not to not have a rug for every single zone. Having a rug for every zone can feel too formulaic though so depending on the dimensions of the room, try to have just two large rugs and perhaps one smaller one beneath a drinks trolley or a semi-circle one to draw attention to and around a console table. When interior designers suggest using multiple rugs in a room to add warmth and contrasting textures, a narrow living room provides the perfect opportunity. You can use them to mark out the different areas and then arrange the furniture around them. Rugs in a long living room will also help you to create zones. So be sure to select at least a few pieces in the room that are circular or oval, like a round coffee table or ottoman or round-based or drum-shaped lampshades that will all minimise the bowling alley lengths of a narrow sitting room. ![]() They call out instead for a mixture of crisp and curved. Try not to fall into the trap of using only sharp, clean lines in a long and narrow room. A mirror over the fireplace – this time a round mirror so you have a combination of circular and square – provides additional light and space. It’s a more elegant way of creating a mirrored wall but has a similar result of reflecting a large expanse of the room. A rectangle living room idea where the space is on the narrower side would be to choose several tall and thin mirrors and hang them side by side like you would with panels of art. Mirrors are renowned for being room enlargers when hung in thoughtful ways. It’s not commonplace to have that arrangement in sitting rooms so seeing them will be instantly interpreted as a luxury. The effect of having two of each makes you focus on how wide the area is. ![]() If you can choose narrow furniture like slender sofas and coffee tables, place them opposite each other. One of the narrow room ideas that works when there’s ample width to play with concerns maximising the effect of symmetry. Rectangular living room layout ideas can be enhanced by various design tricks to make your space either feel bigger than it is, or that celebrate it for what it is – long and lean. Not only is it a waste of precious space, but it makes your living room visually off-balance and the design will always appear awkward, ultimately affecting how much you’ll enjoy spending time there. Living room layout ideas for a long room should all encompass ways to prevent a void. Zoning should help you to fill all of the space in a long living room, but it’s still wise to be mindful of the middle section. They can help you see these zones as two different rooms altogether. Or, a television-watching area at one end with a more conversational layout of sofas and armchairs at the other, with additional furniture separating the two zones (be it a large console or even a tall bookcase). Think about defining a cosy, intimate seating area at one end and a dining space at the other to transform it into an open-plan area. Long and narrow living rooms actually give you a big opportunity to use every part of the floorspace wisely, which can be hard to do sometimes in a large, rectangular living room layout you often end up with a chasm of dead space in the centre. ![]() This is true for any shape of living room, but long lounge ideas really do start with establishing different pockets of use. Whether you have already chosen the furniture or not, knowing how and where to place every piece can be the hardest aspect of designing a narrow living room. This picture in the owner’s manual shows a model with a shorter cylinder. Experience with the S&W 547 taught that the free bore of a long cylinder provides a ballistic advantage with the short 9mm cartridge. Earlier variants of this gun featured shorter cylinders I was pleased that this one came with a longer cylinder. It operated smoothly and is well shaped for its purpose. The kidney shaped thumbpiece has vertical serrations on its face and pushes forward to open the cylinder. It balances well in the hand with just a slight muzzle heaviness. According to my scale, the gun weighs 33.8 ounces empty. It compelled me to dig out calipers and a scale, along with a few S&Ws for comparison. Its dimensions appeared to be about K-frame sized except for the top strap looking thicker than that of the S&W. Picking it up revealed the heft of the steel gun. I would describe its appearance as handsomely utilitarian. The gun has a distinctive European look sort of like a slightly scaled down Manurhin MR73. The frame wears the “RIA” branding above the thumbpiece and APINTL-PAHRUMP NV along with ALFA-PROJ Czech Republic Model AL 9.0 below it. ![]() The left side of the gun has small proof marks on the barrel and frame and the serial number is prominently displayed below the cylinder. The right side of the gun bears a single inscription – “9 mm Luger” tastefully adorns the barrel. The AL 9.0 chambered every 9mm load the author could find to run through it. Using the de-mooning tool will add longevity to clips and keep them running trouble free. The grips were black rubber with finger grooves and raised texture “dots” on the side panels they completely covered the back strap. The trigger and hammer appeared to be investment castings. The adjustable rear sight will look familiar to S&W fans, although smaller than the S&W assembly. The front sight was notably tall with a red insert near the top of the serrated blade. The barrel sported a thick rib on its top that matched the stout frame nicely. The bluing was deep black and uniform, the 3” barrel wore a full length underlug like a 586. Opening the plastic shipping case revealed a blued, medium frame revolver.
